       Antibody Discovery                      Operations -                         Assistant Manager

Abveris is an antibody discovery biotech company providing contract research services for biopharma companies of various sizes. Over the past few years, the company has seen exceptional sales growth, which depends heavily upon the continuation of successful customer relations. Abveris is searching for a full-time Antibody Discovery Operations Assistant Manager to join its expanding Operations and Project Management team to help manage the company’s growing list of antibody discovery projects. The Operations Assistant Manager will be an integral part of the Project Management team, working closely with the scientific team and internal program managers to support the coordination of custom antibody discovery projects from early project design to final deliverables.

A major part of the role will involve supporting key project-specific operations including project initiation, materials management and project documentation.

Successful candidates must be highly organized with a keen eye for detail. This job is ideal for early career scientists looking to expand their knowledge of both the scientific and operational aspects of antibody discovery.

Job responsibilities to include:

  • Provide support for and coordination of new project start.
  • Coordinate project-specific reagent and materials management with Lab Management and the scientific teams.
  • Coordinate transfer of project deliverables to Partners.
  • Participate in the sales process and early project discussions.
  • Communicate with Partners regarding project operations.

Candidate qualifications:

  • Antibody discovery knowledge and/or experience. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
  • Bachelors degree in biological sciences or a related field with 2+ years of relevant experience or Masters degree with 1+ years of relevant experience.
  • Basic knowledge of biologics characterization assays (such as ELISA, FACS, SPR/Octet affinity ranking/measurement).
  • Basic understanding of the hybridoma and/or B cell-based antibody discovery workflow (immunization, cell culture, antibody characterization, purification, sequencing).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Highly organized, detail oriented and able to operate in a fast-paced environment.
